JACKSON, Laura A. Laura A. Jackson, 77 of Forest Park, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Laura was born in Atlanta on January 5, 1937 to Robert and Bertha Martin. Laura was married to Gus J. Jackson on March 12, 1955. Laura was a homemaker. She loved her family and she enjoyed going to church. The preacher would always say she could sing the angels down from Heaven. Laura is survived by her children, Gus S. Jackson of Winder, Tina Henry of Forest Park, Lisa Blackmon of Forest Park, Vanessa Jackson of Forest Park and Butcher Merritt of Douglasville; 24 grandkids and 42 great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Martin; mother, Bertha Martin; husband, Gus J. Jackson; sons, Michael Jackson, Freddie Jackson, Kenny Jackson, Dennis Jackson and Keith Jackson; and granddaughter, Carrie Henry. Viewing will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 687 Gaskill St., Atlanta, GA 30316 on Thursday evening, March 20th and Friday, March 21st. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22nd at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
