Larry Smith, 63, a life-long resident of Tuckahoe passed away suddenly on February 22, 2010. He was born February 15, 1947 at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY to the late John H. Smith, Sr. and Carrie L. Smith. He was a 1965 graduate of Tuckahoe High School. He was a Vietnam War Vet, who served honorably for 4 years in the US Air Force, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired several years ago from the sanitation department for the Village of Tuckahoe. He is survived by his sister, Cherry "Gail" Hicks and brother-in-law Eugene Hicks of Raleigh, NC., and niece, Sherri Butcher of Yonkers, NY. Wake will be held tomorrow, Friday, 5pm-7pm at Emanuel AME Church, 6 Van Duzen Pl., Tuckahoe, NY 10707. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 7pm. Burial will be Saturday 10:30am at Mount Hope Cemetery.
