Larry Smith, 68, Olive Branch, Miss., died at home on Aug. 11, 2009. He was born Nov. 4, 1940, in Amory, Miss. He lived several years in Etowah and Calhoun counties in Alabama and attended Alexandria High School. He was retired owner of Midtown Auto Repair in Memphis, Tenn. Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home, Southhaven, Miss., with graveside services at 3 p.m. in Forest Hill Cemetery Midtown, Memphis, Tenn. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Walter William Smith; mother, Mary Gwendolyn Smith; and brother, Billy Dean Smith. He is survived by his loving companion, Frances Severs; three sons, Larry Gene Smith, Memphis, Gary Smith, Southhaven, and David Smith, Memphis; one daughter, Neva Kay Smith, Memphis; three brothers, Fritz Smith, Rainbow City, Tom Smith, Byhalia, Miss., and Phillip Smith, Bowling Green, Ky.; three sisters, Betty Sue McNeill, Akron, Ohio, Walta Mae Wallace, Amory, Miss., and Maxine Hollis, Atlanta, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Dillon, Cassie, Alex and Landon.
