SKOWHEGAN -- Lydia E. Bryant, 92, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2012, at Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan. She was born June 6, 1920, in Bethel, to Harry and Alice (Powers) Bryant. Lydia graduated from Flagstaff High School with the class of 1938, and from Boston University with the class of 1942. She worked for the state of Maine social services until her retirement.Lydia was predeceased by her parents; as well as her three brothers, George, Curtis and Richard Bryant.She is survived by her cousin, Myrtle Collins, of Bath; and her nephew, David Bryant, and his wife, Denise, and their children, William and Katherine Bryant, all of Birmingham, Ala. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Skowhegan Federated Church, 13 Island Ave., Skowhegan, with the Rev. Mark K. Tanner officiating.In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the Skowhegan Federated Church Memorial Fund, 13 Island Ave., Skowhegan, ME 04976.
