<!-- FH = Beachwood Society -->LORRAINE "SISSIE" SMITH DAVISSeptember 17, 2011Lorraine "Sissie" Smith Davis, 88, passed away on September 17, 2011 in Naples, FL.Sissie was born in Lexington, KY on Valentine's Day in 1923. She was the stunningly gorgeous only child of Lorraine Wheeler Smith of Lexington and Alexander Vale Smith, oil wildcatter from South Dakota. She attended "U" High and Univ. of KY in Lexington. On September 6, 1947 she married the equally dashing attorney Frank Fowler Davis of Paducah, KY. They lived in Lexington while Frank finished Law School at UK and then moved to Paducah, where their only child, Lorraine Couts "Missi" Davis was born. In 1961, they moved to Ft. Myers Beach to "retire", which didn't last long! Sissie soon became active in the Real Estate community in the 60's, 70's, and 80's and was awarded Associate of the Year several years running.In 1974, she was predeceased in death by her husband Frank. Now after 37 years, she is finally reunited with him and the are unquestionably one of the most attractive couples in Heaven enjoying bridge and martinis together again!Sissie is survived by her daughter Missi Davis of Naples, FL and grandchildren, Marine Staff Sgt. William Cyril Simpson IV of Oceanside, CA and Alexandra Fowler Simpson, also of Naples. She was so very proud of her two grandchildren and loved telling stories of their accomplishments.Sissie will be remembered for her strong opinions on just about any topic, her devotion to the Episcopal Church and the Republican Party, as well as her ability to listen to others problems and help to solve them. She was fierce in her love of her daughter. That love never faltered. Her feisty spirit has finally been released from the earthly ties and shall now be deeply missed.Internment will be held Nov. 20, 2011 at Grace Episcopal Church in Paducah, KY.
