MILLER, LINDA LAY MORTON - 66, of Knoxville left this life peacefully in the presence of her husband and children on Sunday, May 4, 2014, following a lengthy illness. She is dancing and rejoicing now in Heaven, doing all the things she was unable to do in the last 28 years of her life. We praise God for the peace that passes understanding that sustained her with unbelievable grace. She was born in Knoxville, TN on May 5, 1947 to the late John W. Morton, Jr. and Hazel Lay Newman Morton. Linda graduated from East High School in 1965 and married Harold David Miller later that year. They both were life long residents of Knoxville and loved raising their family in the area. Linda was a long time member of Buffat Heights Baptist Church and was ministered to in a mighty way by the church throughout her illness. Linda is survived by her husband Harold; children David Miller and wife Kellie of Kingsport, Whitney Schoenfield and husband Jeff of Sevierville; grandchildren Spencer Miller, Tanner Rowell, Will Rowell, Brock Miller and Kendall Miller; sister Micki Shipe; and special friend Sheila McMahan. A celebration of life gathering will be held at Buffat Heights Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 6th, and friends can drop by between 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 7th, at 4:00 P.M. at Lynnhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Buffat Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
