McCALL, LILLIAN McMILLAN was born on October 27, 1906 in Varnville, South Carolina. In 1926 she joined her sister, Ruth McGowan of Oviedo to teach school. There she met Henry Bunn McCall, Jr. and they were married on June 23, 1926 and soon moved to Sanford. Lillian taught first and second grades. She later opened her own kindergarten and taught there for a number of years. Lillian was a member of First United Methodist church and United Daughters of the Confederacy, and was active in both. She is survived by her four sons, Glenn of Sanford, Bunn, III resides in Murphy, NC, Emmett of Winston Salem, and John Daniel of Greensboro, NC. She has nine grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11AM on Friday, May 14, 2004, in the Evergreen Cemetery, Sanford, with Rev. Jim Bradshaw of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
