Lawrence "Larry" John Keyes, 71, of Lake Lure, NC, died Friday, November 23, 3007. A native of New York, NY, he was a son of the late John Henry and Theresa Margaret Mettler Keyes. A graduate of Iona College, he was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was a recording engineer with Columbia Records/ Sony. A member of the National Assoc. of Recording Arts and Sciences, International Brotherhood of Electric Workers, Local 1212 and Train Collectors Association. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Margaret Stewart Morgan Keyes, son , James (Jim) Patrick Keyes (Dina Freidman) of Irvington, NY; daughters, Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Keyes (Kirsten Sheehan) of Pagosa Springs, CO, Margaret (Meg) Mary Keyes (Joe Skufca) of Niskayuna, NY, Laura Joan Keyes (Heidi Mann) of Decatur, GA and Ellen Moyer (Todd) of Rutherfordton. Grandchildren, Kelly and Emily Moyer, Danielle and Evan Skufca. Services where held on Monday (November 26th) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Forest City, NC of which he was a member. Burial will be in New Haven, CT.
