LAURA M. BROWN - SOUTH BURLINGTON - Laura M. Brown passed away on Nov. 24, 2012, in the Vermont Respite House. She was born in St. Lucien, Quebec, Canada, on July 27, 1922, the daughter of Walter and Maria (Benoit) Brown. Laura retired from the New England Telephone Co. (now Verizon) after 32 years of employment. She enjoyed being a member of St. John Vianney Parish for many years. She formed many friendships over a good game of cribbage. Laura is survived by her siblings, Simone Duquette of Essex Junction, Georgette Laba of St. Albans, Teresa Duffy of Loudonville, N.Y., George and wife, Barbara, of Deland, Fla., and Pauline and husband, Rosario Cannizzaro, of South Burlington; sisters-in-law, Joanne Woolery Brown of Leesburg, Fla., and Phyllis Brown of Holyoke, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Robert and Leo; and sisters, Cecile Myott, Betty Taylor, and Fern Lumnah. A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Vermont Respite House for their wonderful care of Laura. At Laura's request, a private graveside memorial service will be held at Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington. Arrangements are by Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Directors. Donations may be made to Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
