Kirsten Elisabeth Hansen July 17, 1938 - January 13, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kirsten Hansen. On January 13, 2013 she lost her battle with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome following complications from knee replacement surgery. Kirsten was born in Denmark on July 17, 1938, the eldest of seven children to Frants and Ingeborg Nielsen. The family immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1957. She married her husband Svend Hansen in 1959 and in 1970 they moved to the 108 Ranch in the Cariboo with their two children Jan and Connie. There she enjoyed many good years with family and close friends. She was very well known in the area for her beautiful sewing and quilting creations, and was a fabulous cook, always doing something special for her guests. Kirsten created many treasured memories for us all. She will be deeply missed but always remembered by all who knew her.
