Kenneth Willis "Bill" Williams, son of Willis Spurgeon and Ethel Gobble Williams, was born October 25, 1929, in Houston, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, December 10, 2006, in HCR-Manor Care in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 77 years, one month and 15 days. On June 4, 1950, he was united in marriage to Barbara Dean Bledsoe, and to this union a son and a daughter were born. He was preceded in death by both his parents. Bill is survived by his son, Ken Williams and his wife, Rhonda, of Prior Lake, Missouri; his daughter, Jan German and her husband, Charley, of Leawood, Kansas; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Williams, Sarah German and Charles German; the children's mother, Barbara Williams, of Thayer, Missouri; special friends, Gena and Mike Cooper, of Seymour, Missouri, and John Heitz, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of other relatives and many friends. Bill was born in Houston, Missouri, and in the early 1940's he moved to Seymour, Missouri, where he graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1947, and later attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield, Missouri. He and his parents owned several Williams Supermarkets throughout southwest Missouri and Bill was involved in the operation of all the stores. While living in Seymour, he attended the United Methodist Church. Bill moved to Springfield, Missouri, several years ago to make his home. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and loved to travel. Bill was a loving father, grandfather and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will cherish the memories that he created for his family and friends. Graveside services are 11 a.m. today, December 13, 2006, in Seymour Masonic Cemetery, Seymour, with Reverend Ron Brown officiating. Services were under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour.
