WILLIAMS _ Kenneth Desmond, passed away unexpectedly at Lions Gate Hospital on February 7, 2003. Ken was born in Sydney, Australia, on March 25, 1935. He was a devoted husband to Margaret for 44 years and a loving father to Greg and his wife, Laura. He worked in the insurance industry for 50 years. He was president of the Vancouver Branch of the English-Speaking Union. A member of the World Ship Society, he had a life-long interest in ships. His keen memory enhanced his storytelling, and the solving of cryptic crosswords. He was an avid reader, especially of biographies. A talented organist and pianist, he played for church services and accompanied amateur musical productions in Sydney from his youth. In North Vancouver, for 8 years he accompanied The Village Voices choir. In 1972, he began playing the organ at St. Andrew's & St. Stephen's Presbyterian Church, 2641 Chesterfield Avenue, where a memorial service will be held on Monday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. Donations to the church may be made in memory of Ken. "(He) will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (Psalm 23).
