Kenneth Bryant     Morrison, 41     SACO -- Kenneth Bryant Morrison, beloved father, son, and friend to many, drowned in a tragic swimming accident while vacationing with his fiancŽe, Heidi Larson, on Prince Edward Island Friday, Aug. 11, 2006.     The second son born to Alola Giffin Morrison and Joseph Franklin Morrison of Orrington on Jan. 7, 1965, Ken was a 1983 graduate of Brewer High School, and earned his degree in Political Science from the University of Maine at Orono. While at UMO, Ken was an active and much-loved member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and was a charter member of the Zulu Social Club.     Upon graduating from college, Ken worked in the insurance industry for Liberty Mutual and the The Dunlap Group. In recent years, Ken was very proud to serve as the Human Resources Director for Applicators Sales in Portland.     On Sept. 11, 1993, Ken married Maureen O'Neil of Biddeford. Together they had three beautiful and amazing children, Connor O'Neil, Olivia Viola, and Joseph Richard McDonough. Since their divorce in 2003, the two continued to raise their children together. Ken delighted in spending time with his family, coaching his children's soccer teams, and cheering them on at basketball courts and track and field events.     A loving and devoted family man, Ken was known for his sharp wit, his quick mind, and his rich, deep belly laugh. He was a compassionate and kind leader who was admired for his gift of bringing people together. Ken loved a challenge, delighted in stimulating debate, and was always looking for opportunities to reach out and help people, to lend a hand, give a hug, or provide a broad shoulder to cry on. Most of all, Ken had a huge heart and a tremendous capacity for unabashed love and joy. He wore his heart on his sleeve and was full of life and unbridled passion and emotion.     Ken was a big kid at heart who left us much too soon. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. Besides his children and parents, he leaves behind his beloved 97-year-old grandmother, Viola P. (Mana) Giffin; his brother Mark and wife Candace Morrison of Windham, and their two children, Kristen and Gregory; his sister Cheryl Anne Morrison and her fiancŽ Mark Ginsberg of Hampton Falls, N.H.; and his fiancŽe Heidi Larson and her two sons Alexander and Peter Johnson of Cape Elizabeth.     Please join us, one and all, for a celebration of Ken's life. A wake will be held in his honor at Brookings Smith Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15. An outdoor memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Park, off Center Drive on King's Mountain in Orrington. Please come in casual attire, as Kenny would have wanted it that way.
