CARTER Kenneth Bruce Passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 83 on September 25, 2009 at the Kopernick Lodge. Bruce grew up in Grand Forks, Langley and Trail before attending UBC where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He then went on to article and become a Chartered Accountant. Bruce was a quiet and gentle man who enjoyed the simple things of life; camping, Couples Club, fishing, bowling, gardening, history, and traveling. After retiring in 1981 he and Cecilia spent several months each year relaxing in Arizona or California. He also spent many rewarding years volunteering at Fairhaven Seniors Home before the onset of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Predeceased by both his parents Doug and Ada as well as his older brother Gordon (Lois), Bruce will be greatly missed by his wife Cecilia, son Doug, daughter Lynne, sisters Kath and Irene (Maury) and the many nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 2 pm at West Point Grey United Church, 4595 W 8th in Vancouver, BC, with light refreshments after. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Parkinson's Society of BC.
