-> Statesboro, GA - Kay Elizabeth Womack Davis, age 53, died on Thursday, January 8, 2004, at her home in Statesboro, GA surrounded by her family. She died under Hospice care after a long battle with cancer. Originally from Emanuel County, she had lived for the past sixteen years in Bulloch County. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. Following work with the Family and Children's Services program in Swainsboro, GA she served as a Rehabilitation Counselor with the Georgia State Government. In Statesboro she worked four years with Christian Social Ministries and five years with Volunteer Services of Bulloch Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Statesboro. She was an artist and member of the Savannah Art Association where she exhibited some of her paintings. She was the daughter of the late Aubry L. Womack. Survivors include: Her husband, Jerry (J.D.) Davi s of Statesboro, GA; her mother, Marjorie Womack of Swainsboro, GA; one sister, Judy Mincey of Statesboro; one brother, Aubry J. Womack of Swainsboro, GA; one nephew, David Mincey of Statesboro, GA. The family will receive friends at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary Saturday evening from 5:30-7PM. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be Sunday, January 11th, at 2PM in the Blundale Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Archer officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Greg Johnson, Gary Johnson, Ray Womack, Craig Peebles, Mitch Price, Jimmy May, Jason May, Joe Pebbles, Donnie Garrett and Scotty Womack.
