Mrs. Katie Virginia Davis, 65, of Panama City, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, at her home. She was born Nov. 21, 1944, in Panama City, and graduated from Bay High School in 1962. She received her BA and MA from the University of Alabama. She loved Alabama football. Virginia was the Director of St. Andrew Bay Center for 24 years. She was the first female member of the Kiwanis Club of Bay County.She is survived by her husband, Tom Davis; three children: Julia Becker and husband Lyle, Sharon Jenkins, and Thomas W. Davis, Jr.; step-grandchildren: Corey and Brittany Jenkins, Sandra Meng, and Greg, Brandon and Chelsea Becker; and her best friends, Mary Haygood, Linda and Joe Winslett, and Linda Kendrick and family, and many other friends too numerous to list. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Amanda Waters.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Virgil Tillman officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Heritage Funeral Home.
