Kathy Anderson - DARIEN/CLAXTON - Kathy Anderson, 58, of Darien and Claxton, Georgia, died Monday, October 28, 2013 at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton. Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, October 31, 2013 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Whaley officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien with George Moxley, Gene Caldwell, Milton Deal, Ike Maulden, David Stevens, and Daniel Pearson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Mitchell, Jeff Todd, Ricky Boone, Zach Wood, and Steve Jessup serving as honorary pallbearers. Born July 23, 1955 in Brunswick, Georgia to Milton Rogers and Hazel A. Newsome, she was a graduate of Darien high School Class of 1973. Mrs. Anderson also attended Brunswick Junior College. She retired from Gateway Behavioral Health Services after a dedicated career helping those with mental challenges. She was a member of First United Methodist church in Darien and enjoyed fishing, the great outdoors, gardening, cooking, arts and crafts and especially spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Rogers. Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Darry Anderson of Darien and Claxton, a son Johnny Hall, Jr. and wife Joanna Jessup Hall of Darien, a granddaughter, Jolee Anderson Hall, her mother, Hazel Rogers Newsom of Nahunta, two sisters, Debbie Lee and husband Gary of Cincinnati, OH, and Elaine Rogers of Darien, two brothers, Charles Rogers, and Russell Rogers, both of Darien, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6PM until 8PM at Edo Miller and Sons funeral Home.
