Obituary of Kathleen Smith


MARTIN, Kathleen "Kay" (nee Smith) 1920-2005 - The family announces with sorrow her death on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the age of 85 years, at the Sudbury Regional Hospital (Memorial Site). Dearly beloved wife of Francis Fortier (first husband) and Joseph Martin, both deceased. She is survived by her dear son and daughters: Kathleen "Skip" Landry of Sturgeon Falls, Barbara Harquail (Bernard) of Verner, Charles Fortier (Norma Jean) of Nashville, Tennessee, Frances Rudovsky (Harold) of Panama City, Florida, and Constance Descheno (Barry) of North Bay; and her step-sons, Colin Martin (Monique Gagnon) of North Bay and Rick Martin (Kathy) of Brantford. Her memory will be cherished by 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by a brother, Kenneth Boyter of Hamilton. Predeceased by her brothers and one sister: William Smith, Tom Smith, Jack Boyter, and Christina Thellefson. The family will receive relatives and friends at the THEORET FUNERAL HOME today, April 29, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Raymond Sullivan on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in North Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kay may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
