Kathleen Pappas-Morrison, born in 1937, spouse of Donald Morrison, daughter of Antonis and Josephine, mother of Barbara Ann, John and N. Y, died on July 13, 2014 at 77 years old.
Kathleen Pappas-Morrison, surrounded by her family, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at the age of 77. Visitation will be on Friday, July 18, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Dooley's Funeral Home in Cranford, N.J. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. from Dooley's Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Roman Catholic in Garwood, N.J. Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Park in Kenilworth, N.J. Kathleen was born in Kos, Greece, to Antonis and Josephine Manolakios. She came to the United States when she was 12 years old to live with her aunt and uncle, John and Barbara (nee Eisenbeil) Pappas, and had been a resident of Cranford, N.J., since 1949. In her earlier years, she worked with Korvettes and Two Guys, as well as working part-time at the old Clark Lanes, where she would later meet her husband, Donald Morrison. She later worked at the old Ketchum Industries in Cranford before spending the last 40-plus years as a cook at Buffy's Tavern in Kenilworth, where she was known for her great Christmas and Super Bowl parties. Kathleen was a past member of St. Anne's Rosary Society. She also enjoyed attending many functions with the Women's Group at Cranford Alliance Church. She loved going to Ortley Beach, N.J., in the summer with her daughter and family. One of her first of many concerts as a young girl was that of Frank Sinatra. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Donald Morrison, in 1989. Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ann Morrison-Egnat and her husband, John, of Staten Island, N.Y.; her sister, Barbara (late Demos) Sikopoulos; her niece, Josephine (and Roderick) Jolis, with nephews Demos and Alex Jolis, and her niece, Demetra Sikopoulos, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her brother, John Manolakis (late Chleo) with niece, Demetra and her family, of Greece; her sister, Kidonia (and Harry) Tsakinis, with nephews, Nick, Tony (and Irene) with their sons, and John (late Jodi) with Abigail, Sophia, and Nikoletta, all of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Greece. She is also survived by many other family members, cousins, and friends.
