MOORE Kathleen Agnes (nee Moxham)March 23, 1911 - September 11, 2008 Kay passed away peacefully at her home in Seton Villa on September 11, 2008. She was born in Epsom, Co Surrey, England and was brought to Canada in 1912 when her parents Godfrey and Agnes emigrated with their young family, settling in East Burnaby. After graduating from Burnaby South High School, Kay attended UBC and Vancouver Normal School earning her Teachers Certificate in 1928. She taught at Gilmore Avenue School in North Burnaby until her marriage. In 1934, Kay married George Brabazon Moore also from Burnaby, and they settled down to raise their family. George predeceased Kay in 1953 and she went back to teaching at Gilmore, later transferring to Rosser Avenue School, where she remained until her retirement. For many years after her retirement she was a volunteer for the Burnaby Red Cross. Kay lived a long and healthy life enjoying her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Elsie in Victoria, daughters Mavis Leveille and Eileen (Russ) Curtis, her grandsons Jay (Carol), Patrick, Rory Leveille and David and Andrew Curtis. She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren Rebecca, Brittany, Josh, Jordan, Craig, Ryan and Kelsey, the Orman family of Calgary, 3 nieces and 4 nephews The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the staff of Seton Villa for their care and commitment, also, Dr. Gregory McAnulty and the residents of Seton Villa, who helped make her final years happy ones. Private interment. A reception will be held at a later date at Seton Villa. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
