LAURA KATHLEEN MILLER September 8, 1916 July 22, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister. Kathleen was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Arnold, he was always by her side; her chosen son, Tim; her sisters, Dorothy Clair, Marion Spence; her brothers, Austin Spence and Keith Spence. Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Shirley Jean (Lou) Bueckert; her granddaughter, Selina; her grandson, Dexter of Langley BC; her sister, Eleanor Melsom; and numerous nephews and nieces. Kathleen was born in Radisson and had many happy memories of time spent at her father's flourmill. From 1942 1946 Corporal Spence, L.K. served with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Kathleen graduated from Saskatoon Normal School and began teaching in districts around her hometown. She married Arnold in 1948 and they moved to Prince Albert in 1955. Kathleen was an active member of Calvary United Church. She was in the Miriam Group of the U.C.W. she also taught Sunday School, Explorers and C.G.I.T. for many years. Kathleen volunteered with Meals On Wheels and received a service award when well in her eighties. Kathleen's health failed in the last two years and she resided at Pineview Terrace Lodge. The family would like to thank all the staff and caregivers for their upbeat and warmhearted consideration to Kathleen during this time. Kathleen will be remembered for always having a kind word about everyone. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 from Calvary United Church, 114 25 Street East, Prince Albert. The Reverend Nora Vedress will officiate. Interment will take place in Garden of Devotion, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
