Kathleen Murphy, a lifelong Suffern resident, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Thursday, June 7, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 45 years old. Kathleen was employed by Short Line Bus Company in Mahwah, NJ for several years and later worked for the Leneta Company also in Mahwah, NJ. Kathleen loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her loving mother Marjorie Murphy of Suffern, two sisters Mary Ellen Cassidy and her husband Bill of Upper Nyack, Judith Press and her husband Hugh of Denville, NJ and one brother Brian Murphy and his wife Nancy of Sloatsburg. She is also survived by her nieces Brittney and Ashley, and her nephews Shaun, Kevin, Ryan and Kenneth, her beloved cat Misty and many good friends. Visiting will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2001 at Scarr Funeral Home in Suffern, NY from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern at 11 am.
