MorrisLowell, MA native, retired schoolteacher; 84 SEABROOK BEACH, NH -- Mrs. Kathleen Elaine (Geary) Morris, 84, of Seabrook Beach, NH, formerly of Andover, MA, died on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, after a brief illness.Born on January 3, 1927, in Lowell, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Catherine Elaine (Delehanty) Geary and former Lowell Mayor and Massachusetts State Senator William C. Geary.Kathleen Morris grew up in the Acre section of Lowell and graduated from St. Patrick's Grammar and High Schools and Lowell Teacher's College.Prior to raising her family of four, she was an elementary school teacher in Newton, MA, and Billerica, MA. A longtime parishioner of St. Elizabeth's Church, Seabrook Beach, NH, and Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Hampton, NH, she had an ever-present smile, a caring and compassionate heart, and a twinkle in her eye, especially in the company of her four precious granddaughters. She enjoyed golfing with friends and family and treasured family get-togethers at the beach.Kathleen Morris was the wife of the late F. Richard Morris, who died in 1995. She is survived by her children, Richard W. Morris of Rye Beach, NH, Sharon M. Morris and son-in-law, James F. Dupre of Hampton, NH, Erin M. Newman and son-in-law, Thomas R. Newman of Newburyport, MA, and Edward F. Morris and daughter-in-law, Kacey C. Morris of Hampton, NH.She was the loving grandmother of Katrina C. Morris, Michaela A. Morris, Mariah R. Newman, and Anna G. Morris. She also leaves a brother and sister-in-law, William and Nancy Geary of Lowell, MA; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and George Donovan of Rye, NH; sister-in-law, Marie Geary of Nashua, NH; sister-in-law, Anne Hayes of North Andover, MA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Mary Joan Morris of Andover, MA; and sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Morris of Amesbury, MA.She was the sister of the late Eugene Geary, Paul and Ann Geary, Carol Geary, and Estelle Geary. She was the sister-in-law of the late Brother Leo Richard Morris, FMS, Daniel Hayes, and Frank L. Morris, Jr., and daughter-in-law of the late Agnes M. and Frank L. Morris. She was also the aunt of the late Joseph P. Geary.She was much loved by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.MORRIS -- Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Elizabeth's Church, Lowell Street, Seabrook Beach, New Hampshire.
