Kathleen Collinsof Long Valley, N.J.; born in Lowell; 57 LONG VALLEY, N.J. -- Kathleen Collins, 57, died January 15, 2011 at home from complications due to leg surgery blood clots and ovarian cancer. Born November 10, 1953 in Lowell, MA., she was the daughter of the late John Collins and Barbara McCarthy Collins of Boston. She was a Daughter of the American Revolution.She is survived by her sister, Mary of Long Valley, her brother Frank and Carol of Hackettstown, her brother Chris of Durham, NC and her Uncle Jack and Aunt Joanne of Braintree, MA. She enjoyed the love of her nephews, nieces and grand niece.She was a co-author and political advisor with her sister. She was the former Director of Business Development at Hackettstown Ford and the Eric Nielsen Auto Group. She was a teamster and shop steward of Local 743. Kathy graduated from Michigan State University in political science. She was the president/vp of the student senate and an advisor to the Board of Trustees. Kathy had 4 US Supreme Court decisions with her sister Mary as pro se, in forma pauperis. She received an apostolic blessing from Pope John Paul II for her music and US Supreme Court cases and personal apostolic blessings from Pope Benedict XVI. She was an organist, painist and choir member in NJ, IL and MI. She was a Eucharistic Minister and lector. She was also a boy's choir director and organist as s teenager. Kathy was a recipient of the US Presidential Medal of Merit and the Legion of Merit. She was a charter member of a presidential library and a sponsor of the National WWII Memorial in DC. She was a member of the NJ Senatorial Committee and an election voting worker and judge. She was a lifetime member of Boys Town and an Educator of the Lakota Indians and helped fund with Mary the religious education for children of Ica Peru for several years. She was a wildlife preservationist and a wolf sponsor. She was a member of St. Mark's and Our Lady of the Mountain Churches under the authority of Pope Benedict XVI.COLLINS -- The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 59 Spring Lane, Long Valley on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 10 am.
