EVANS, Kathleen Anne (nee Forteath) - Peacefully in her 83rd year at the Trillium Health Centre, Mississauga on Saturday, December 20, 2008. Beloved wife of Bruce. Loving mother of Rev. Janet Evans and her husband Michael McQuaid, of Iroquois ON. Cherished "Nana" of Hilary McQuaid. Predeceased by infant daughter Marilyn Anne Evans (1947) and brother Douglas Forteath of South Africa and by her parents John and Dora Forteath. She will be lovingly remembered by family, friends and neighbours. Kathleen and Bruce met in England in 1944. She came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. Kathleen was a long-time member of St. James United Church and a member of her beloved group "The United Church Women" (UCW). The family wishes to convey their thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Trillium Emergency and Intensive Care Units for their wonderful care during Kathleen's stay in hospital. A Memorial Service to honour Kathleen's life will be held at St. James United Church, (400 Burnhamthorpe Rd., Etobicoke) on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Service. If desired, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. James United Church.
