Young, KatherineKatherine Young, 90, entered into eternal rest 9on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Fairfield, CT. She was born in Senica, S.C. on January 26, 1923 to the late Jack and Sallie Gaines. A retired homemaker, she was an active member of Messiah Baptist Church.Left to cherish her memory are: sons, Leotis, Jr. (Annie) of Detroit, MI, Charles (Regina) of Bridgeport, CT and Howard (Elizabeth) Young of Avondale, AZ; daughters, Marilyn Young Bridgeport, CT and Jimillah (Roderick) Goodwin of Columbia, S.C. in addition to a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.A Service of Celebration will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 22, 2013 in Messiah Baptist Church, 210 Congress St., Bridgeport. Friends may greet the family from 8:00 am until time of service at the church. Interment to be held immediately following service in Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave., Bridgeport, CT.
