SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Katherine Williams of 725 Farley Avenue, widow of Mr. Paul Williams, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Wilhelmina Shands, Tuesday evening, January 3, 2006, after a brief illness.A native of Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Mickerson and Mrs. Hazeleen Alexander Mickerson, and was a member of Greater New Zion Baptist Church.Surviving are one son, Mr. James Powell of Atwater, CA; one sister, Mrs. Wilhelmina Shands of Spartanburg, SC; three grandchildren reared in the home, Katherine Powell, Thomas Powell and Bobby Williams of Brooklyn, NY; and 10 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Greater New Zion Baptist Church.
