ANDERSON, Katherine Sue HornerAge 76 of Nashville, died January 19, 2013. Born September 29, 1936 in Jackson, TN, daughter of John Quillis Horner and Clara Beavers Horner. She was a graduate of Jackson High School where she was crowned Miss Jackson, 1952, was Salutatorian of her graduating class and chosen as Best All Around Girl. She attended Vanderbilt University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1958, and remained a life-long fan and supporter of all Vanderbilt athletics. She was an active Presbyterian having served the denomination on many levels - as elder, member of numerous committees on the presbytery and congregational level, Moderator of the Presbytery, and as a 14 year member of the Committee on Ministry as a liaison and conflict management facilitator. She served as Chair of The Committee on Ministry for the Middle Tennessee Presbytery. Her abiding faith and love for family brought her the most joy. She is predeceased by her brother, John Quillis Horner, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dr. William C. Anderson; sons, William C. Anderson, Jr. of Peachtree City, GA, Dr. John E. Anderson (Glenda) of Nashville, Michael T. Anderson of Santa Monica, CA, Steven E. Anderson (Mindy) of Nashville; daughter-in-law, Debra L. Anderson of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Melissa R. Anderson, Atlanta, GA, Michael C. Anderson, Seattle, WA, Lauren M. Anderson, Peachtree City, GA, Christopher W. Anderson, Matthew S. Anderson, Eric D. Anderson, David H. Anderson and Rachel K. Anderson, all of Nashville. She is also survived by her aunt, Irene Beavers of Ames, IA and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held on January 23, 2013 at 11:30 a.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3900 West End Avenue. Visitation will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, January 22nd, 5-7 p.m., and 1 hour prior to the Memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests that memorials be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church - Habitat for Humanity Fund or Alive Hospice.
