-><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Mooney, Katherine "Kay"On Monday, April 28, 2014 Katherine "Kay" Mooney went into the loving embrace of Our Lord. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Paul J. Mooney, her father, Stephen M. Polasko, Sr. She was predeceased by her mother B. Joan Polasko on October 5, 2005; her three siblings, Theresa (husband Craig) Stoel, Stephanie Roman, Stephen M. Polasko, Jr. (partner Christine Merryman) and loving in-laws William and Sherry Mooney, Thomas and Donna Mooney and Sally and Gene Hayes. She leaves behind an adored long haired dachshund Mac. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who thought spending time with Aunt Kay and Uncle Paul was the greatest thing on earth. Kay graduated from SUNY Binghamton Decker School of Nursing and worked for 28 years at Robert Packer Hospital. She started as an ICU nurse and then moved into the Operating Room where she excelled at every position she held. She had recently gone to per diem work in order to spend more time with her beloved great nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of the Epiphany, S. Elmer Ave. Sayre, PA with Rev. Brian Wright as celebrant. Interment will be private.
