Katherine Mary Burke, 73, Bradenton, died June 16, 2005. She was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Providence, R.I., and came to Bradenton in 2003 from Jamestown, R.I. She was a former teacher in the Lincoln, R.I., school system and was a member of Mensa. She was a former editor of Rhode Island Senior Times and a former sales manager for the Rhode Island Press in Jamestown. Survivors include a brother, Dr. William A. Burke Jr. of Sarasota; a nephew, Billy of Sarasota; and a friend, Kevin Farrell of Bradenton. No visitation is planned. A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church. Brown and Sons Funeral Homes, 26th Street Chapel, is in charge.
