STUART Katherine Louise (nee Gordon) Born November 27, 1939. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kathy, a loving wife, mother and friend. She passed peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Burnaby General Hospital surrounded by her family. Her positive outlook and sense of humour carried her through a short but exhaustive fight with cancer. Kathy now joins her predeceased parents, Anna Josephine Sovenski and Frances Melvin Gordon, brother Wallace Gordon, sister Joan Gordon and many half-brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 49 years Garland Stuart, daughters Wendy, Susan (Lance), Jackie (Barry) and granddaughter Andrea (Aaron); sister Mary Gordon of Victoria. She was a devoted and faithful follower of Christ. She had generous loving spirit, which touched so many people. Kathy enjoyed many friendships through playing bridge and lawn bowling. All who loved her will profoundly miss her she meant so much to so many. She will be remembered for her compassion for others, generosity, and dedication to her family. Through her actions and words we all knew that family was the most important part of her life. All are welcome to gather for the Prayers on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 7:00pm and a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 11:00am at Corpus Christi Parish, 6350 Nanaimo Street, Vancouver, BC, which will be celebrated by her nephew The Most Reverened Gary Gordon, Bishop of Whitehorse. Interment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathy's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
