ANDERSON - Katherine Jean passed away peacefully with her children at her side on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at St. Paul's Palliative Care Unit, Saskatoon, after a long and courageous battle with Cancer at the age of 81. Predeceased by her parents, John (1983) and Rose (Stigen) (1978) Inkster; her husband, Clarence Anderson (1969); motherin-law, Caroline Johnson; brothers, Kenneth (1950), Charles (2002), sister, Norma (2002) and her friend, John Blechinger (2004); sisterin-law, Susie (Millar) Inkster; son-in-law, Arnold Brossart (2004); brothers-in-law, Stan Johnson; James Cunningham, Fred Erickson; special friend, James Aberdeen (1992); two nephews and one cousin. Jean is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Brossart of Swift Current, SK; son, Kenneth Anderson of Saskatoon, SK; sisters, Joan Cunningham of Wakaw, SK, Gale Erickson of Spy Hill, SK; sisterin-law, Marjorie Inkster of Terrace, BC; grandchildren, Don (Christine) Brossart of Swift Current, SK, David (Shelly) Brossart of Medicine Hat, AB, Robert Anderson, Jeffrey (Vikki Waddell) Anderson, all of Saskatoon, SK; great-grandchildren, Sara, Haylee, Ty, Morgan and Jarin; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jean was born on August 29, 1925 in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan. In 1933 she moved with her parents and grandparents to Weekes, Saskatchewan, where she met her husband. They were married December 4, 1942. They farmed in the Weekes district until December 1968, when they moved to Saskatoon due to her husband's failing health. She belonged to the Army, Navy, AirForce Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Unit #38 where she was a life member, secretary and treasurer for over 30 years, Pass member of the Royal Purple of Weekes, and member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo and crib of which she won many tournaments. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Holy Cross Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor's choice. Funeral Service will be held at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (1405 31st Street, Saskatoon, SK) on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bob Ulmer officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Thanks to the hospital staff at St. Paul's Palliative Care Unit for the care they gave to our Mom. Arrangements entrusted to Derryl Hildebrandt of PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL, 244 2103 Rest in Peace Mom.
