In the early hours of Tuesday morning Katie went to be with her Lord and Savior after a long and courageous battle with a debilitating illness.She is survived by her loving husband and friend of 25 years, Johnny; mother, Olympia Falduto; son, Gino (his father Poncho Molina); stepson, Klee; and granddaughter, Britney; sisters, Maria and Nora; brothers, Frank, Frankie and Lino; grandchild, Mia Molina; niece, Hasty Moss; nephews, Styles Posey, Rosselino and Alessandro Falduto; mother-in-law, Dorothy Himes; sisters-in-law, Renee Falduto, Beverly Himes Taylor (Jim); brother-in-law, Wayne Lewis; and numerous aunts and uncles. Katie was preceded in death by her father, Frank Falduto; and her uncle, Joe Falduto.Katie was a beautiful, loving, and passionate person with a heart of gold. Her greatest gift was her passion for cooking, spending countless hours in the kitchen preparing meals for everyone and anyone, and having owned several restaurants throughout the years, she was able to connect with people and make friends wherever she was. Her love for cooking was only surpassed by her love for family and friends. Katie was also a devoted Catholic and a member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Miramar Beach, Fla. Katie worked her last years as her husband's business managing partner at Himes Signs in Destin, Fla.Katie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank the staff and doctors at Sacred Heart Hospitals, the UAB Transplant Center, and her friends who were by her side during her times of need.There will be a Memorial Mass held on Friday, June 7, 2013, at 6 p.m., at Resurrection Catholic Church, Miramar Beach, Fla.
