Phillips, age 30, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 after her courageous three year battle with melanoma cancer. She passed away peacefully at her home in Holland, Ohio surrounded by family and friends. Her strength, courage, and faith in God was inspiring to all. Katy was born April 8, 1982 in Mansfield, OH. A 2000 graduate of Lexington High School, she received her undergraduate degree in Recreational Therapy from the University of Toledo in 2004 and her Master of Occupational Therapy from Medical University of Ohio in 2006. Katy had a genuine love of life. She enjoyed reading, playing with her nephews, yoga, outdoor sports like skiing and watching football, and especially spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her loving, compassionate nature and always putting others needs before her own.Katy is survived by her husband Jason; mother, Linda (Mark) Reisdorf; father, Jerry (Brenda) Ault; sister, Emily (Eric) Turlo; step-brothers, Stephen and Spencer Parker and Christopher and Craig Reisdorf; brother-in-law, Brandon (Sarah) Phillips; nephews, Zachary and Cameron Turlo and Landon Parker; In-laws, Richard and Roxann Phillips; grandmothers, Dorothy Roberts and Lois Crawford; grandparents, Jordon and Vivian Phillips; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, James B. Roberts and Howard Ault; grandmother, Margaret Ault; and aunt, Sandra Byers. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 12-4:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where services will follow at 4:00pm. Per family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Katy Ault Phillips Melanoma Foundation, in care of Walker Family Funeral Home.
