Obituary of Karen Smith


Karen Patricia Smith, 30, of 500 Bushy Creek Road, died at her home July 10, 2003, after an extended illness.Born in Greenville County, she was formerly employed by Bi-Lo as a florist and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her mother, Rebecca Pauline McKnight Edge, and stepfather, Ron Edge, of Reidville; her father, William Vernon Smith, of Greenville; two brothers, Keith and Wayne Smith, both of Greenville; a stepsister, Dawn Edge; and a stepbrother, Bradley Edge, both of Spartanburg; maternal grandmother, Lorene Galloway, of Greenville; maternal grandfather, Paul McKnight, of Spartanburg; stepgrandparents, Henry and Dot Edge, of Spartanburg; nephews, Kevin Smith, of Spartanburg, and Anthony Klarman, of Greenville; and best friend, Tracy Klarman, of Greenville.Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, with burial at Graceland Cemetery. Following the service the family will be at the home of the grandmother: Lorene Galloway, 811 Edgemont Ave., Greenville. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.Pallbearers will be Alex Klarman, Bradley Edge, Donnie Fowler, Jerry Wooten, Michael Cox and Terry Fowler.The family will be at the home of the mother and stepfather: 500 Bushy Creek Road, Woodruff.
