MARSHALL, TEXAS / CLIFTON SPRINGS - Karen Lee (Dewey) Williams, 71, passed away at her residence Thursday (December 25, 2014).The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday (December 31, 2014) at the Downs Funeral Home, in Marshall, Texas. Funeral services will beheld at 2:00 p.m., Thursday (January 1, 2015) in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Father Denzil Vithanage officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.Donations may be made in her memory to Special Olympics, Inc., 1133 19th Street NW, Washington, D.C., 20036.Karen Lee (Dewey) Williams was born August 6, 1943, to Leland H. Dewey and Emma Elizabeth (Hicks) Dewey in Clifton Springs, New York. She attended the State University of New York in Oswego. Karen married Lewis Wayne Williams on November 11, 1961, in Phelps, New York, and together they celebrated over fifty years before his death in 2012. She was a member of the Catholic Church, the Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Karen was a teacher who enjoyed life, loved people, and was a loving mother and grandmother. She was young at heart, stylish, loved to dance and have fun.She is survived by her daughters, Kelly L. Williams Porter and husband, John P. of Lyons, New York, and Christina L. Williams of Phelps, New York; two grandchildren, Ian L. Block of Arlington, Virginia, and Brittyn M. Willie of Phelps, New York.Karen was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Lewis Wayne Williams.
