Karen S. Beck (Leathers) Crown Point Karen S. Beck (Leathers), age 51, of Crown Point, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago. Karen was a member of St. Matthias Church where she served on the Arts & Environment Committee. She was employed as an X-ray Technician for Methodist Hospital Southlake Campus. She was a graduate of IU Northwest and was a member of ASRT. Karen was preceded in death by father, John C. Leathers Sr.; brother, Chuck Leathers and father-in-law, Lloyd L. Beck. Karen is survived by her husband, Bruce of Crown Point; three children: BethAnn, Jeffrey and Jessica Beck all of Crown Point; mother, Mary Leathers of Cedar Lake; two brothers: John C. Leathers Jr. of Rensselaer and Thomas M. (Kathy) Leathers of Granger, IN; mother-in-law, Ethel M. Beck of Crown Point; brother-in-law, Larry L. (Val) Beck of North Carolina, sister-in-law, JoEllen M. (Fred) MacDonald of Utah; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2005 at 11:00 am directly at St. Matthias Church, 101 W. Burrell Dr., Crown Point, Rev. Terry J. Steffens, officiating. Friends may call at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, on Sunday, May 1, 2005 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Prayer Service will be offered Sunday at 7:00 pm. Karen may also be viewed Monday morning at St. Matthias Church from 10:00 am until the time of services at 11:00 am.
