JOHNSON,KATHERINE "KITTY" P.Gainesville - Katherine "Kitty" P. Johnson, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2013. Kitty was born in Louisville, Georgia to Styrens L. Perkins and Georgia Q. Perkins on July 13, 1926. She attended Landon High School in Jacksonville, Florida and was valedictorian of her class. She graduated from Florida Southern College and attended the Kansas City Art Institute. Kitty worked as a graphic artist for Florida Horse Magazine in Ocala. She was very active in the community, as well as First United Methodist Church and the Cum Duble couples group, and the Gainesville Women's Club. Kitty did volunteer work at Alachua General Hospital where she was in charge of scholarships for students interested in healthcare. She was predeceased by her husband, Steve Johnson, and son Stephen Lee Johnson. She is survived by daughter-in-law, Melanie Johnson, of Ponce Inlet, Florida and nephew Larry Johnson of Birmingham, Alabama. A Visitation will be held starting at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 419 NE 1st Street, Gainesville, FL.
