K. Elizabeth Hartigan - formerly of Medford, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. Betty, as she was known to her family and friends, was married to Lawrence P. Hartigan of Lowell, who predeceased her in 2000. She is survived by her four children, Kathleen E. Hartigan of Marion, Lawrence P. Hartigan Jr. and his wife Nancy of Coronado, CA, John J. Hartigan and his wife Deb of Andover, and Clare H. Skerry and her husband Matt of Cary, NC, along with nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a loving extended family. Betty was a former elementary schoolteacher and a longtime communicant of St. Raphaels Parish of Medford. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and her lifelong friends, Mary Burke, Mary Murphy, and Mary Huggins, affectionately referred to as the 3 Marys. She was predeceased by her sister, Mildred Grossman, and her three brothers, Edward, Jerome, and Robert Brennan. Family and friends are invited to a funeral mass celebrating Bettys life and accomplishments at Saint Raphaels Church, 512 High Street, Medford on Saturday, June 7th at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118, in Bettys honor. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main Street, Woburn.
