PALMYRA - Julie Ann Henderson, 42, a resident of Main Street, passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Julie was born Jan. 25, 1966, in Rochester, N.H., the daughter of Frank and Leona (Herrick) Henderson Sr. She graduated from Mount View High School and was employed by C.M. Almy, Pittsfield. One would be hard pressed to find a more self reliant, hardworking and stubborn woman than Julie. Her love for her children was infinite, she took great pride in providing a stable, nurturing environment for them. She considered independently purchasing her house to be one of her greatest achievements. Julie loved to be surrounded by her family and friends, having gatherings and feeding everyone in sight was one of her favorite things to do. She was a woman of diverse interests, she loved to hunt and be outdoors, but also to sew and read. Books were one of her favorite things, second only to food. She is survived by the love of her life, Jeff Carmichael; her three children, Brittany Knowles of Boston, Bo Knowles of Boston and Cory Knowles of Palmyra; two sisters, Jeannie Henderson of Skowhegan, and Ruthie Moulton and her husband, Reggie, of Troy; four brothers, Franklin Henderson and his wife, Robin, of South Berwick, Charlie Henderson of Troy, Horace Henderson and his wife, Marybeth, of Boston, and Matthew Henderson of New York; her stepmother, Joan Henderson of New York; three stepsisters, Melisha, Nadine and Sweetie, all of New York; her nieces and nephews, Bonnie, Ashley, R.J., Jayson, Nancy Joy, Nathan, Michelle, Kimberly, Joseph, Nicole and May; and many special friends. She was predeceased by her parents; and her two sisters, Bonnie Mitchell and Charlene Peabody. A receiving of friends will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Ave., Pittsfield. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Rogers Cemetery, Rogers Road, Troy. There will be a gathering immediately after the service at Troy Grange Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in Julie's name to National Breast Cancer Foundation, a cause very dear to her heart.
