BROWN, JUDITH DUNCAN died Friday afternoon, July 30, 2010 at Norton Hospital with her immediate family by her side. She was born November 14, 1938 in Evansville, IN to John William (JW) and Mary Ann Cates Duncan. She was reared in Henderson County and was a graduate of Western Kentucky University. She majored in Business Education and was a member of the "Thirteeners" (Chi Omega). Judy taught in The Owensboro Independent and Henderson County school systems. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was an elder, Stephen Minister, active in Presbyterian Women and the Cabbage Patch Christmas Project. She was a member of the Alliance at the JB Speed Art Museum and had been a volunteer at the rental gallery. She was also a member of the Womans Club of Louisville and was involved with the annual Kilgore Garden tour and enjoyed Gardening, needle pointing, and playing golf with her friends at Harmony Landing Country Club and The Seabrook Island Club. Judy was predeceased in death by her father and her son, Prentice "Chip" Brown III. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Prentice; her mother; sister, Elaine Cave (Payne), of Greeneville, TN; daughter, Allison Duncan (Will), of Louisville; and grandchildren, Kate, Mary Claire and William and her son Mark (Margaret), of Armonk, NY and grandsons, Duncan, Quinn and Beckett and nieces and nephews. The family gratefully acknowledges the professional and compassionate care of her physicians and nurses for the past 11 years, especially the wonderful care she received in the 5H lCU at Norton. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. There will be a private burial at Cave Hill Cemetery followed by a memorial service on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Second Presbyterian Church, 3701 Old Brownsboro Road. Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church or the Cabbage Patch Settlement House.
