Funeral service for Juanita Fern Davis, 75, North Kentucky Avenue, DeLand, who died Thursday, June 23, 2005, at Florida Hospital DeLand, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Lankford Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, at the Lankford Funeral Home, 220 E. New York Ave., DeLand. Mrs. Davis was born in Sherman, Ky., and moved to this area in 1945 from Indiana. She was a crossong guard at Boston Avenue for many years, and a Girl Scout leader and a member of First Baptist Church of DeLand. She was retired as a secretary at the guidance office at DeLand Junior High School and DeLand Middle School for 26 years. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Dan A. Davis Sr., DeLand; son, Dan A. Davis Jr., DeLand; daughters, Bonnie Gainey, Atlamonte Springs, and Lori Krupa, Leominster, Mass.; sister, Margaret Montgomery, Rising Sun, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
