WALDEN Jr. Davis Eugene “Buddy” Walden Jr., 83, of Jacksonville passed away December 15, 2004. A native and life long resident of Jacksonville, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard, was a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, Riverview Masonic Lodge #306, F & A M, Morocco Shrine Temple, where he served on the wrecking crew, was a lifetime member of the thirty-niners social club. He was retired from the Jacksonville Fire Department as Captain of The Fire Boat Richard D. Sutton, and was a retired home builder. Mr. Walden was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Laura M. Walden, and is survived by 2 sons: Davis E. “Gene” Walden III (Ginny), Richard O. Walden (Bonnie), 6 grandchildren: Mark, Jonathan, Richie, Prissie Walden, Brandi Schwartz, Holly Lumpkin, and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at George H. Hewell and Son Northside Funeral Home, 4747 Main St. where funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday with Rev. Johnson H. Pace Jr., officiating, entombment will follow in Evergreen Garden Cloister Mausoleum, serving as pallbearers will be Mark, Jonathan, Richie, Priscilla Walden, Wesley Murray, and Kieth Brown.
