OWEN, Jr., Sam Sam Cobb Owen Jr. of Dunwoody, GA passed away Monday, June 16th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 17, 1940 in Blakely, GA, son of the late Sam Owen and Mary Ellen Owen. He graduated from Troy State University where he played football. He pursued a career in the medical sales industry. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Owen, and two children David Owen (Lisa) and Suzanne Krueger (Grant) of Atlanta. He is also survived by grandchildren, Mary Margaret and Sarah Owen and two sisters, Mary Jane Warrick and Beth Moseley of Blakely, GA. A celebration of life service will take place at Dunwoody United Methodist Church on Friday, June 27th at 2pm. The gathering of family and friends will take place prior to the service at 1pm in the church parlor. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University.
