Joyce F. Wright 1940 - 2014 EAST DOVER Joyce F. Wright, 73, a resident of Rocky Lane, passed away Aug. 9, 2014 at Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend surrounded by her family. Joyce was born in East Dover on Aug. 29, 1940, the daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Bennozie) Wright. She attended schools in East Dover and graduated from Brattleboro High School, class of 1958. Joyce loved children and was very active with youth organizations. She was a 4-H Leader and a boyscout camp cook. She was a member of the Stratton Mountain Scout Reservation for 16 years and was the owner-operator of the Maple Leaf Country Store in East Dover for over 16 years. She was extremely crafty and loved to make quilts for anyone. She enjoyed listening to country and western music and Box Car Willy. She loved playing bingo, square dancing and traveling with her husband, covering the four corners and Hawaii. She was an avid camper and loved camping at the Kenolie Campground in Newfane. She cherished times spent with her family especially her great-grandchildren, whom she absolutely loved. Joyce is survived by her husband Arthur William Wright, Sr., whom she married in Wardsboro on June 6, 1958, her children Arthur William Wright, Jr. and his wife, Pamela K. of East Dover, Marcia Horrigan and her husband, Pat of Brookline, brother, Donald Wright of Hutchinson, Kansas, sister, Loris Mundell and her husband, Robert of Brattleboro, grandchildren, Arthur William Wright, III and Crystal Durocher and her husband, Gregory J., great-grandchildren, Sophia and Gemma and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, June and Melvin Mundell from East Dover. A celebration of life and pot luck luncheon where everyone is invited to bring a dish and a story about Joyce will be held Sunday Aug. 17, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the Kenolie Camp Ground in Newfane, Vermont.
