Joyce O''KEEFE(nee MacAULAY)Joyce O''Keefe (nee MacAulay) passed away suddenly at age 72 on December 28, 2015 while enjoying time with her dear friend Ed Gadsby and beloved dog Kaos at the cottage. Her daughter, Maura (Robert), her granddaughters, Samantha and Veronica and friend Ed will deeply miss her spirit and love of life. She is survived by her siblings Dorene (Peter), Robert (Patricia), Lloyd (Allison), and Dave, her step-father Chris Andersen and her many nieces and nephews who will all miss her passion for life. Joyce was born in Crystal City, Manitoba to Mildred and Neil MacAulay. She graduated with a Bachelors Interior Design degree from the University of Manitoba. Her creativity, drive and passion led her to open Design Planning Associates with a partner. After many successful years in business, Joyce then took a new direction in her career becoming an Administrator and Educator for the International Academy of Design in the role of Chair of the Interior Design program. She was an industry leader in her field and inspired many talented designers to become the "best" they could be. Joyce was an advocate for advancing design education and was a strong voice for that community. Joyce will be remembered for her incredible strength, intelligence and generosity; her unending love for Maura and her family; and her contributions to her profession. She loved being a grandma and would delight in planning activities for the girls including manicures, baking, painting, sewing and trips to the symphony. Her life was well lived and we want to rejoice that life. Please join us on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. at Caffino Ristorante, 1185 King Street West in Toronto to celebrate all that she brought to the world.
