MAGUIRE Joyce O.November 4, 1936 - June 30, 2008 It is with sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Maguire, wife, mother, and loving grandmother - a Woman of Distinction. She is survived by her husband Gerry, son John, daughter Mary (Heenam), grandchildren Colette (Josh), Crystal, and Quinton, sister Sue (Mike), and her extended musical family throughout British Columbia. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, she was a teacher, accompanist of the Vancouver Bach Choir for 40 years, Manager of the Vancouver Bach Children's Chorus and Youth Choirs, and the former Executive Director of the BC Choral Federation. A great lady, a musical maven - a splendid wife. Thanks to the doctors and nurses at Vancouver General Cancer Clinic and the Purdy Pavilion, UBC. Special thanks to Dr. Kennecke, oncologist. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to the B.C. Cancer Foundation. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral (Georgia & Burrard) on Wednesday, July 9 at 7:30 pm.
