MARTIN, Joyce – of Welland, at the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital, Dunnville, on Saturday, November 4, 2006 in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late James Percy Martin (2002). Loving mother of James Martin Jr. (Sally) of St. Catharines, Patrick Martin (Dawn) of Dunnville, Thomas Martin (Irene) of St. Catharines, Kevin Martin (Nancy) of Dunnville, Donald Martin of Wainfleet and Herbert Martin (Laurie), Ronald Martin (Carrie) and Theresa Martin (Walter Pickell) all of Welland. Lovingly remembered by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Dear sister of Sheila McDonald, Colleen Dakin (Doug) and Herb McDonald (Theresa) and sister-in-law of Leon Theriault. Also predeceased by her parents Joseph and Rose McDonald, son Michael Martin (2003), sisters Theresa Theriault and Gertrude McCoshen and brother Patrick McDonald. Born in Noranda, Quebec, Mrs. Martin lived in Dunnville most of her life settling in Welland 12 years ago. She worked for the Community Telephone Company of Dunnville which was later purchased by Bell Canada. Mrs. Martin then purchased the Dunnville Area Answering Service of which she was the owner/operator for 10 years. She was member of the St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church C.W.L., Dunnville, and was President of the Jubilee Social Club in Welland. Mrs. Martin was an avid bingo player and loved to play cards with her friends. She loved her family and they meant everything to her. Friends are invited to visit the family at the H.L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland, on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, November 9, 2006, at 2:30 p.m. in the Cudney Chapel by Father Michael Andrysiak of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Dunnville. Rite of Committal will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. 10426170
