Mrs. Joyce Lee Whitaker, 65 of Bonifay, died on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay. Born Sunday, Sept. 1, 1946 in Westville, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and the late Emily Williams Thomas.Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her husband, Hinson; sister, Jewette Householder and brother, Bill Thomas.Surviving are sons, Joey Whitaker of Bonifay, and Johnny Whitaker (Julia) of Bonifay; daughter, Joan Helmes (Gary) of Bonifay; brothers, Ralph Carter Thomas of Freeport, and Raymon Thomas of Bonifay; sister, Linda Lowery of Belview and four grand children.A Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012 at New Smyrna Assembly of God, Bonifay, with the Rev. Charles Pettis, the Rev. Mike White and the Rev. Michael Tadlock officiating. Interment followed in New Smyrna Cemetery, Bonifay, with Sims Funeral Home directing. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at New Smyrna Assembly of God, Bonifay.
