Obituary of Joyce-J. Cox

Joyce Jacquline Harlan Cox, 76, of Lexington, passed away at her residence Jan. 31, 2010, after a brief illness. She was a Baptist, florist, member of Eastern Star and a former "WAC."Survivors include sons, Gerald Joseph Cox III and wife, Lyn, of Bailyton, Ala., William Paul Cox and wife, Carol, of Cullman, William Patrick Cox and wife, Janet, of Loretto; daughters, Kimberly Joyce White Poss and husband, Larry, of Lexington, Heather Emeline Haynes and husband, Tyron, of Sheffield; sisters, Faye Hanson and husband, Wayne, of Cullman, Betty Jo Mashburn and husband, Theo, of Peppertown; grandchildren, Whitney Smith, Jackie Cox, Lacey Sneed, Derrick Cox, Ray Vinson, Karlie Beth Cox, Carson Cox, Josie White, Jacob Cox, Jeremy Cox and Nicolas Cox; great-grandchild, Cody John Allen Sneed.She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Joseph Cox II; son, James Carson Cox; and parents, Earnest Carson and Jessie Emeline Harlan.Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Brother Al Geise and Brother Pat Cox officiating. Burial will be in Bonnertown Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Joseph Cox, Paul Cox, Tyron Haynes, Josh Sneed, Ray Vinson and Kyle Smith.Honorary pallbearers will be Carson Cox, Jacob Cox, Jeremy Cox, Nicolas Cox and Derrick Cox.Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
